WHO/ My name is Daria Koch, I am currently 17 years old and I finished school in March 2018. I have German roots as well as Russian ones, I speak French and English fluently. In my leisure time I passionately play the piano, do gymnastics and running. At the moment I am absolving a work placement as an assistant director in a small local theatre. In school I chose Biology, Sports and French as advanced courses – I am very interested in medicine and hope to get the chance to study this subject soon. 

WHY/  In 2017 I had the opportunity to travel to Israel and Palestine. I was impressed by the diverse cultures and religions living on such a small space. I got to hear the different opinions of Muslims, Jews and Christians concerning the Middle East Conflict, which was a really fascinating experience. I was affected by the hospitality and the respect of the locals so that I knew I had to return. Furthermore I wish to study medicine and by absolving a voluntary service in the Carmel Medical Center in Haifa I hope to gain practical experience and broaden my horizon – academically and personally. Moreover I am looking forward to get to know a lot of interesting people and make new friends. 

I am sure that travelling will change me – it will make me a Global Citizen.
