What happens with your money/
The Red Cross gains no economic profit, but how do their finance all the volunteers?
With donations.
Our social year will be partially financed by the federal ministry for family, seniors, women and youth (BMFSFJ). The other part the volunteers have to manage by themselves. Our exercise is to create a donations cycle to finance our voluntary.
So what happens with your money?
Their are two types possibilities you have donations you can make:
Red Cross Voluntary
The "Soziale Freiwilligendienste MV" ( Social voluntaries MV) is responsible for us and with the money you donate, they can take care of us. Every volunteer has to collect an amount for the Red Cross. They use the money to pay our accommodation, a collocation with all volunteers, everything that is needed for the preparation, few opportunities for us in Israel and our mentor.
So here you can support our safety and life conditions.
If you spend money this way, you must write the name of the volunteer, you want to donate to in the donation, so the organization can keep the overview.
Extra donations/
An "Extra donation" will be used for projects in Israel. When a volunteer has an idea and wants to start a project, for example buying new footballs for kids or supporting to build a building, like a school, he can ask the Red Cross to take money from these "Extra Donations". The volunteer has to verify every step in which he uses the money.
If you rather like to promote a project you have to do an "Extra donation" with the name of the volunteer, who organizes the project in it.
You can be sure, that your money will be well managed. Always think about what you would do, if you are in need and nobody helps you. The Red Cross is an altruistic organizations, that wants to support those who needs support. Just think about what worth 10€ to you and what it could change elsewhere.
Thank you very much!
