WHO/

My name is Antonia Borkowski and I am 17 years old. I live in a very small village near

Magdeburg and I am going to graduate my A levels in June.

Since I was little music means everything to me. I started playing piano when I was 4, then played flute for about 3 years and with 14 years I started playing guitar and started singing in a band. Besides music I really enjoy baking, which has something calming to me (and because I love eating cake;)). I have done artistic gymnastics for a long time and for three years I have supported the head of the club with helping the younger kids to do sports, assist and motivate them.

WHY/  Though I really enjoy living at a small place, now that I’m done with school it is time to say goodbye and I am looking forward to visit a totally different place. To me it was important to take the time after completing my A levels to collect as many new experiences as I can (outside the school). That’s the reason why I decided to do a gap year before studying. In particular Israel exited me most because in my opinion it is so different to Germany on so many levels and I want to learn more about the interesting country with its different culture and history but also want to get to know the traditions and the ensuing issues of Israel. I am going to work in a day care kindergarten in Tel Aviv for one year. I enjoy working with kids a lot and I guess working in a kindergarten is the best opportunity to learn the most for my occupational future, about which I have no concrete plan yet.

So traveling to Israel helps me to gain new experiences on a cultural and an educational level but also helps me to make sure what I want to study.
