Resumé

Updated: Sep 7, 2018

Shalom,

I want to give you some short impression of my thoughts, my impressions and of my life as a voluntary.

- It is warm. Nearly 30° every day

-Haifa is one big hill. There is no straight. You always go up or down.

-The Israelis are very polite and helpful.

-Everywhere is an air conditioner.

-My apartment looks like a typical student apartment. The beds are not comfortable and in the kitchen are missing several things for cooking. But the view is beautiful and it is very central.

-Living with seven people is not as easy as expected. Dealing and tolerate others behavior, that may be unsuitable in my eyes, friendly is always a challenge. Buying food, managing to clean and doing laundry with and for seven people needs a lot of planing, time and patience. But it is also nice to have people around you. You do not feel alone and you have people you can talk to, if there is something, that makes you feeling bad. I am lucky to have a good and nice roommate to whom I can talk to. Exploring the city with people in your age Is also an advantage of the colocation. In the end I have to make compromises and enjoy what I have.

- A car is really a luxury thing. In my hometown I had my own car and could drive every time everywhere. Now I have to take the bus for 30 minutes to go to the supermarket....The way back is always sporty. Generally, Haifa is a city with long distances. You always sit 20 minutes in the bus, no matter where you want to go.

-Nearly most of the volunteers are funny, spontaneous an optimistic.

-Dealing with homesickness is difficult, when you know, that you will come back in one year.

-Also you make many new friends, it is a weird feeling not to be able to go your best friends in five minutes

- After I talked so many times about my voluntary, I am finally here. Now I start to ask myself, what may come after. It is an horrible feeling not to know what you want to do.

- Managing travels in Israel is not very easy.

-Do not wear shorts in an orthodox jewish part of the city!!!!

-Learning Hebrew is not as difficult as expected.

- Food is very expensive.

-Flatrates are very cheap.

-The Bahai gardens are a "must-see" in Haifa. They are beautiful.

-The water is very warm.

-I have sunburn, all over my back.

-The hospital seems to be very integrative and nice.

-Multicultural life is really a daily routine here.

- A room all by yourself is a privilege.

-French people have another biorhythm then germans. I mean they leave at 15.00 and arrive at 3:00.

Everything has his positives and negatives, also my voluntary, but I am glad to be here and I look forward a great new year.

If I remember new impressions, I will share them with you,

Lehitraot,

SK
